Positioning Your Program
Scholarship season is fast approaching, and if your organization offers scholarships to deserving students, why not get their thoughts about personal finance?
Ask them to write a paragraph or two on “Money Lessons I Learned the Hard Way” or “The Best Money I Ever Spent,” or have them describe the joy and satisfaction of saving money toward a goal and what it felt like to achieve that goal.
As much as they may groan about another writing assignment, incentivizing them with a bit of cash, whether it’s a scholarship or not, is an excellent way for you to learn what your adolescent and young adult members are thinking about when it comes to money.
If you have a BALANCE co-branded website, there are a lot of topics in there that would make great essay topics for your scholarship contestants.
