Kristina Morden

Director of Operations, Housing

Bringing more than 18 years of counseling and coaching experience, Kristina Morden is committed to helping individuals realize their full potential. As Director of Housing Operations at BALANCE, she spearheads initiatives to optimize workflows, increase operational efficiency, and ensure procedures remain relevant in a rapidly evolving environment. By emphasizing program management, personnel oversight, and quality control, Kristina collaborates with teams to continuously elevate the client experience.

Kristina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University and is a HUD-certified housing counselor. She began her career in the mortgage industry before transitioning to nonprofit housing counseling, where her enthusiasm for knowledge-sharing and best practices truly took root. Prior to joining BALANCE, she served as the Director of Quality Control at the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, overseeing intermediary audits, delivering premier training, and acting as a subject matter expert in coaching and counseling. In 2017, Kristina further demonstrated her commitment to professional development by completing AFCPE financial counselor training.

Currently, Kristina oversees the CalHFA network—part of the National Mortgage Settlement grant—providing program management guidance and empowering agencies statewide to enhance housing counseling and coaching services. Outside of her professional endeavors, Kristina cherishes her family above all else. She has been married for 28 years and is a proud mother of five children.
