With over 20 years of experience in human resources, Alfredo Zavala is a results-driven HR leader passionate about fostering positive workplace cultures, optimizing organizational development, and implementing strategic HR solutions. His expertise spans multiple industries and international markets, enabling him to drive impactful changes in employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits management, and compliance.

As Human Resources Director at BALANCE, a non-profit focused on financial empowerment, Alfredo leads HR functions with a strong emphasis on leadership development, team building, and accountability. By cultivating a data-driven culture, refining talent acquisition, and strengthening employee relations, he has helped leaders build high-performing teams while fostering transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, creating a work environment where employees feel empowered, engaged, and accountable for their contributions.

Previously, Alfredo held key roles within the BBVA/Telefónica group, where he streamlined HR operations across multiple countries. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, he has successfully bridged communication gaps between international offices, managed multi-country HR operations, launched pilot programs in four countries, and standardized policies across nine regions. His contributions also include developing culturalization and accent-neutralization training programs for bilingual employees.

Beyond his corporate work, Alfredo is deeply committed to community involvement, particularly supporting migrants and refugees in San Antonio. As a volunteer with the San Antonio Migrant Resource Center, he assists newcomers with resume building, job placement, and navigating the U.S. tax system, helping them gain economic independence and stability.

Alfredo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from EBC in Mexico and postgraduate studies in International Labor Markets from Confederation College in Canada. His additional training includes certifications in employment law, labor protection standards, and agile leadership methodologies.
